Program Content

  • Beyond plans and statements, discussing and selecting a direction is a key responsibility for Boards in working with Executive Leadership.

We explore the different facets of managing ambiguity and complexity in setting up our organization with a focus on positive impact and managing risk.

  • Even when the direction is clear, “How are we doing?” can become a contentious topic because impact in the social sector is so complex. While respecting divisions of tasks and responsibilities, we address how to productively engage in conversations that hold everyone accountable.

  • The intent to work together can be hard to put into actions. In this section, we get very practical about the behaviours we need to engage around identifying important issues and guiding wise decisions.

  • Module interconnects. Inter-session tasks allow participants to put ideas into practice. To complete the program, participants choose an area of short-term focus that will positively impact their Board experience, as well as the overall effectiveness of their Board.
